Metro Manila has seen an “uptick” in new Covid-19 cases over the past week, as the region’s seven-day average rose by 19 percent for the period May 13 to 19, the independent research group OCTA said in its latest monitoring.

He said that Metro Manila is seeing an uptick in Covid-19 cases but remained at low risk as of May 19. Meanwhile, the Covid positivity rate remained at 1.2 percent over an average of 11,476 tests per day, he said.The ADAR or incidence rate refers to the number of new daily cases per 100,000 population, while the reproduction number refers to the average number of secondary infections by each infected individual.
