They added that"everyone knows Zoom meetings are more convenient.
Those who must return were assigned to an office when they were hired, but not required to work from them while Meta's remote-first policy remained in place. Two employees said that anyone with a good track record of performance can still be approved to work remotely, so long as their specific team will accommodate that.
Those in support of the mandate said, effectively, that people who choose to work remotely will have a lesser experience and really need to be committed to it."If you are remote, you won't have a desk, you won't have a culinary team making food for you. Office space is being improved," one employee said."People coming in will have a better experience."
