Nearly all of the most dangerous intersections in Medina County are high-traffic areas in the county’s most-populous cities.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- and The Plain Dealer with 2020 data that shows where the most dangerous intersections are located in six Northeast Ohio counties. This is the latest data available for a whole calendar year.
The most common causes of crashes at those intersections are improper lane changes, failure to yield and failure to maintain an assured clear distance, or following too close behind another vehicle, he said. “We are a member of a county traffic safety coalition called Medina County Safe Communities which is facilitated by the Medina County Health Department,” he said. “Education on traffic safety is a primary goal of this group and we use social media and community events to share information.”Brunswick’s engineering department works with the Ohio Department of Transportation and other agencies to analyze crash data and look for ways to improve safety along these main corridors , Ohlin said.
