Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed her gratitude to QCitizens for their cooperation in achieving “zero deaths” during the New Year celebration.
Before the New Year celebration, Belmonte issued Executive Order No. 54 Series of 2022 to regulate the manufacture, sale, and use of firecrackers throughout the city.As of Jan. 2, the city government said three of the city-run hospitals reported 26 firecracker-related injuries and a stray bullet case, while 125 firecracker-related injuries were recorded in National Capital Region .
“Tayo po ay nagpapasalamat sa ating law and order cluster sa kanilang mahusay at agarang aksyon. Ang kanilang paglilibot at pagbabantay ay nagdulot ng kaayusan sa pagsalubong ng bagong taon para sa ating QCitizens ,” the mayor added.
