The Mayon Volcano in Albay had 21 volcanic earthquakes and two rockfall events in the past 24 hours, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Monday.
PHIVOLCS said a faint crater glow visible via telescope has been observed.Moderate plumes rose up to 200 meters tall were emitted and these drifted generally westward.
PHIVOLCS reiterated that entry into the six-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone of the volcano is not allowed.PHIVOLCS warned that sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions, rockfalls or landslides or avalanches, and lahars during heavy and prolonged rainfall may possibly occur.
