Another government team was dispatched to prepare a base camp and landing site of choppers from the Philippine Air Force’s Tactical Operations Group 5 about 609 meters from the crash site. This will serve as the pick-up point of rescuers and the crash victims.
“If their [operations] are positive, the victims will be brought to the pick-up point so that we will be able to make recovery or rescue, or whatever it is, of the victims faster,” Daep told reporters at a briefing at the Camalig town hall. He said they were in contact with rescuers but they needed to keep communication to a minimum as they needed to preserve the battery life of their gadgets.
