Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein has suffered a blow in one recent North Carolina Governor race poll, seeing his lead cut to 6 points.Stein had enjoyed leads over his opponent, Republican Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, that ranged from between 8 points and 14 points, according to poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight.In the latest Emerson College poll, conducted between August 25 and August 28, Stein held a 6-point lead, with the attorney general at 47 percent and Robinson at 41 percent.
'Robinson's campaign manager Michael Lonergan directed Newsweek towards a post from his account on X which read: 'Despite a significant spending advantage from Soros-backed @JoshStein_& the Democrat-media industrial complex @markrobinsonnc is pounding the pavement and closing the gap.'Robinson, who would be North Carolina's first Black governor if elected, has faced scrutiny over his statements on women, LGBTQ+ individuals and abortion.
