Morris brings her headlining “Humble Quest' tour to Whitewater Amphitheater on Saturday. It's one of the last stops for the big, career-spanning show.
The album opens with “Circles Around This Town,” which deep down in its reverberating chords conjures the somber feel of Bowie’s “Lazarus.” It closes with the pensive “What Would This World Do,” an emotional ballad that would have worked on Jones’ debut “Come Away With Me.”“ ‘Circles Around This Town’ is definitely the most biographical I’ve ever gotten in a song ... really telling my story the way that it happened,” Morris said.
January 2023 will mark 10 years since Morris left Texas for Nashville. Her success story is the American dream for aspiring musicians. Whitewater Amphitheater is"a great mile marker to the venues I was playing as a kid to now,” she added.
