PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday vowed to protect the 'purchasing power' of Filipinos by increasing agricultural production after the country's inflation further eased in June.
Marcos made the assurance after the Philippines' inflation rate dropped to 5.4 percent in June 2023 from 6.1 percent in May 2023.'Patuloy ang pagprotekta natin sa 'purchasing power' ng mga Pilipino ,' Marcos said in a statement.'The further slowing of the inflation rate in the country, which is now at 5.
4 percent, shows that our measures to strengthen the economy and support our consumers, workers and entrepreneurs are effective,' he added.The President said his administration will continue to 'bring down' inflation by increasing agricultural production and improving coordination at all levels of the value chain.
