PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reorganized the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. (PCIC) to make it more responsive to the needs of small farmers, fisherfolk and other agricultural stakeholders, Malacañang said on Saturday.
PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reorganized the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. to make it more responsive to the needs of small farmers, fisherfolk and other agricultural stakeholders, Malacañang said on Saturday.The President, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, issued Executive Order 60 on May 13, reorganizing the PCIC and transferring it from the Department of Finance to the Department of Agriculture .
Also part of the board shall be three representatives from the subsistence farmers' sector, preferably representing agrarian reform beneficiaries, cooperatives or associations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao appointed by the president upon their nomination by different farmer organizations and/or cooperatives.
