MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has agreed with the disengagement of Philippines with the International Criminal Court , Solicitor-General Menardo Guevarra said Thursday. ICC Appeals Chamber has affirmed the authorization given by the Pre-Trial Chamber for the ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan, to continue with its investigation into the war on drug killings under former President Rodrigo Duterte as well as the Davao Death Squad.Voting 3-2, the ICC Appeals Chamber denied the appeal filed by the Philippines as it insists that the ICC no longer has jurisdiction over the country after its withdrawal took effect on March 16, 2019.
