President Marcos emphasized the need to overhaul the country’s supply chain to enhance farmers’ livelihoods and ensure a stable food supply.
“There are still many things that need fixing. We really need to improve the supply chain, especially lowering the transport costs. This includes not only the farm-to-market roads, but also the ports, especially the agricultural ports because they are very expensive,” he said. The President also stressed the value of contract farming to boost production and secure farmers’ incomes.
