President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has administered the oath of office to three officials heading to different government agencies, the Presidential Communications Office said Wednesday.
At a ceremony in Malacañang, Marcos swore in former Pandan, Antique mayor Jonathan Tan as the new chairperson and administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority .
Tan replaced former SBMA chief Rolen Paulino, who resigned on April 15, 2023 without completing his six-year term. Paulino explained that he stepped down from his post “to give the President a free hand to choose who he deems best to steer the SBMA to greater heights in terms of management and new business opportunities.”
Also sworn in during the ceremony are Margarita Gutierrez as undersecretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Amable Aguiluz V as the Philippines’ Special Envoy for Trade and Investments in Japan.
