Meteorologists at the Weather Prediction Center released a map showing the areas of California that are at the highest risk of flooding Thursday.
. The map shows the probability that rainfall will exceed the threshold at which flooding can occur within 25 miles of a given location.
The San Francisco Bay Area is among the regions at risk for excessive rainfall that could trigger flooding on creeks, streams, rivers, roadways and low-lying areas.Courtesy of NOAA "Typically that would be flash flooding in other parts of the country, but we don't expect as much flash flooding in California," he said."We're expecting more stream and river flooding."
