The International Conference on ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Community (IC-AJCC) is set to take place on September 19 in Manila. This invite-only event is organized by the Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT) and the National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines (NADPOP).
The conference, dubbed as CyberSecConPH, aims to bring together experts and organizations in the fields of information security and cybersecurity. The event seeks to create a network for sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance digital safety.
Several prominent speakers are lined up for the event. Seiichi Ito, the Chair of the International Relations Committee of the NPO Japan Network Security Association, will discuss cybersecurity best practices in Japan. Dr. Rudi Lumanto, the Founder and Advisor of the Indonesia Network Security Association, will speak on similar practices in Indonesia. Lito Averia, President of PH-CERT, will focus on the Philippines.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology will also provide an update on the National Cybersecurity Plan for 2023–2028. The conference underscores the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures. Lito Averia emphasized the increasing risk of cybercrime and the necessity for a collaborative effort to combat online threats.
Additional experts, including Wilson Chua, Engels Antonio, and Dr. William Yu, will also contribute to the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from these experts and participate in building stronger online security measures.
