A measure mandating the installation of timers in all traffic lights in urban areas to help improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion has been filed in the Senate. | MAgerINQ

In Senate Bill No. 1873 filed early this week, Senator Raffy Tulfo underscored the importance of having traffic light timers to regulate the flow of vehicles and pedestrians at intersections.“Traffic light timers help reduce the risk of accidents at intersections by controlling the flow of vehicles and pedestrians and giving them a clear signal when it is safe to proceed.

“Overall, traffic light timers play a crucial role in improving safety, reducing congestion and delays, and making our roads and intersections more efficient and sustainable. The passage of this measure is thus earnestly sought,” he added.
