Manchester and CVCA met Friday night in a clash of teams unbeaten in Principals Athletic Conference play.
CVCA junior Joey Kopec leads the Royals onto the field before their game against Manchester on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy might not have been eligible to win the Principals Athletic Conference championship this season, but the Royals were just fine with taking home bragging rights in their last PAC-7 game, with 17-6 win over previously unbeaten Manchester on Friday night.
The first two touchdowns of the night put on display the athletic brilliance of both quarterbacks – junior Charley Levak of CVCA and senior Yadin Sharp of Manchester. But on the first play of the ensuing drive, CVCA took advantage of a kickoff out of bounds, when Levak flipped the ball to running back Joey Kopec and the 6-foot-2 junior stopped and threw a perfect pass to Brayden Harris, hitting the junior receiver in stride for a 65-yard touchdown to make it 14-6 with 1:05 left in the half.
Kopec also had an interception on the last Manchester drive of the gave to ice the win for the Royals. It was the second interception of the game for the Royals, joining brother Joey Kopec.
