Police quickly homed in on Bowie as a suspect, days after Dante fell unconscious and while he was still at the hospital. Detectives accused Bowie of “going too far” Bowie said he loved Dante, and tried to take care of him, because he believed the boy had been neglected. He tried to save Dante Sept. 6, 2018, after he fell unconscious by giving him cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mouth-to-mouth breathing, but his attempts were not enough. A
Dante Mullinix, 2, died in September of 2018 after suffering numerous injuries and choking on an animal cracker.By the recommendation of his cousin, Bowie met Holt, who was the first lawyer who told Bowie he was entitled to call on another medical examiner to review the facts of the case. The original forensic pathologist, Wayne Ross, said Dante died due to traumatic brain injury accompanied with strangulation and suffocation.“I knew he was gonna find out the truth,” Bowie said.
