Man taken into custody after 7-hour standoff at Walmart in Santee [Breaking]
A man who armed himself with two knives and a hatchet and made threatening comments was taken into custody after a 7-hour standoff with deputies at a Walmart in Santee Sunday, sheriff’s officials said.
The man also made suicidal comments and told store employees he wanted deputies to shoot him, sheriff’s officials said in a news release.By the time deputies arrived, the man had obtained two knives and a hatchet — prompting officials to evacuate the store and close it temporarily.
