Man surrenders to deputies, taken in for psychiatric evaluation after 7-hour standoff in Dulzura [Breaking]
A man surrendered to sheriff’s deputies early Monday after reportedly firing a gun and barricading himself in a mobile home in Dulzura during a seven-hour standoff, officials said.
The incident begaan around 8:15 p.m. Sunday when deputies got a report of someone firing a gun and possibly setting a trailer on fire on Bee Canyon Road near state Route 94, said sheriff’s Lt. Michael Pepin.Around 3 a.m. Monday, the man surrendered to deputies, Pepin said. The man was taken for a psychiatric evaluation.
The fire was confined to the mobile home and the residence was determined to be a complete loss, said Cal Fire Capt. Brent Pascua. The fire also damaged some vehicles parked in the area, he said.
