Police say the shooting occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on the 1100 block of Tarson Terrace in the Firestone Park neighborhood.
AKRON, Ohio — A 26-year-old man was hospitalized early Tuesday morning when he was shot outside an apartment in the Firestone Park neighborhood.
Police say the shooting occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on the 1100 block of Tarson Terrace. As officers neared the area, they were flagged down by the victim, who had been wounded in the upper body. The victim tells police he was shot by an unknown gunman as soon as he stepped outside of the door of an apartment. Additional details were not released, but police say they did recover shell casings and other evidence.
The victim was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital. His wounds are not considered life-threatening.
