The last homicide in Hoboken was September 25, 2022.
It happened at one of the city's housing authority locations, an apartment complex on Marshall Drive around 11:45 p.m.He was later identified as Damon Murray, a man who was involved in sports in the community.Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla released a statement on Murray's death:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Damon Murray, a well-respected, standout athlete who gave back to Hoboken youth and our community at large. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. May his memory continue to live on through all who knew him."
No arrests were immediately made, and there's no word yet on a motive for the crime.
