A man who in 2016 ambushed and killed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend
Austin Daniel Hoff, 29, was arrested after shooting Steven Senter, 23, on Sept. 5, 2016. Just before the shooting, Senter and his girlfriend, who previously dated Hoff, had arrived home after being out together.As the couple entered the home, Hoff tried to force his way through the front door. Senter then pushed Hoff away in an effort to prevent him from entering, according to prosecutors. During the struggle, Senter was shot in the chest.
During the trial, prosecutors said Senter had harassed and stalked his ex-girlfriend before the shooting. Senter was accused of waiting outside her home for hours before the attack.
