The Harris County Sheriff's Office Dive Team is assisting in finding a man who crashed an ATV at Xtreme Off-Road park, and went underwater but did not resurface.
say It happened around 3 p.m. at Xtreme Off-Road Park on Gulf Pump Rd.
Lt. Chris Adolph says a man in his 30s rode out into the water and once it hit a certain depth, the ATV flipped. The park's owner says the water in the area was 35 feet deep. "He was being followed by family members, they attempted an immediate rescue and got separated and that was the last time they saw him alive," he said. HCSO's dive team was called to the scene and managed to find his unresponsive body.Xtreme Off-Road Park shared condolences on its Instagram but the details it shared, as of this writing, have not been confirmed by law enforcement.
"There's an inherent risk when you're dealing with off-road activities in an ATV and surrounded by water it doesn't take a large amount of water to drown," Lt. Adolph said.
