Footage of the man was posted to TikTok after radio host Emma Chow spotted him on her train carriage on the way to work.
TikTok users were divided when they saw the footage, with some claiming he was unprofessional and “brutal.”Meanwhile, others said people who work in sales often send “break-up emails.”Chow explained the ordeal on her radio show, The Edge, saying she noticed the “reminder” because the man in front of her kept “scratching his neck.”“I had to take a video of this because I couldn’t quite believe this guy had written this note on his hand,” the radio host said.
“Firstly, how embarrassing, secondly unbeknown to her, this poor girl is going to get broken up with and it’s just going to land in her Gmail and be like ’I don’t want to be together anymore’.’ Online commenters slammed the commuters decision to write this break-up reminder where everyone could see.Etheridge said the man may have wanted to send a long email rather than a short message.
“Say it to her face or say it on the phone at the very least. That is gutless, you cannot send an email to someone to break up with them,” Chow said.
