Officers responded to a report of a person shot near Portland Avenue and Norton Street just before midnight on Thursday.
They soon discovered a man near the sidewalk and alleyway with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment but died shortly thereafter, according to police. The investigation revealed that moments before the shooting, an argument broke out between a small group of people at that location.
The homicide is under investigation, and no suspects are in custody. Police are asking that anyone with information call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
