Salt Lake City police are seeking help from the public as they investigate a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian about 1 a.m. Saturday at 415 E. 400 South.
Salt Lake City Police responded to a fatal hit and run early Saturday at 415 East 400 South in Salt Lake City.A 61-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday.
According to a news release from Salt Lake City police, officers responded to a report of a man on the ground at 415 E. 400 South around 1 a.m. on Saturday. First responders found the man in a westbound lane of traffic with critical injuries and attempted lifesaving efforts, but the man died at the scene.
Police said the driver who hit the man did not stop and fled the area. They did not provide a description of the vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle likely has front-end damage, according to the release. The man has not been identified pending the notification of his relatives.The crash was the city’s third traffic-related fatality in 2022.
