Fort Worth police shot and killed a man Saturday night after responding to reports of a domestic disturbance, the department said.
Police were called about 7:18 p.m. to a home in the 2900 block of NW 21st St., between Long and Macie avenues, to a “domestic disturbance,” the department said in a news release. Dispatchers were told there was a man inside a home armed with a handgun and acting erratically. Officers arrived within five minutes and persuaded the man’s wife to leave the home.
The department’s SWAT and crisis-intervention teams responded, and officers tried “multiple times” to contact the man, who had begun firing his weapon inside the home, the department said. “Eventually,” the department said, “the subject emerged from the residence armed with a handgun and presented a deadly threat towards the officers.” The release does not clarify whether the man pointed his gun at officers.Email Address
