Jordan Stoltzfus, 24, pleaded guilty last month to sharing what he believed was heroin pressed into tablet form to Luke McCartney, 21, who was found overdosed on Feb. 11, 2022 in East Pennsboro Township and died several days later.Police investigating the death said Stoltzfus was developed as a suspect through communications captured from McCartney’s phone, which police said showed that the two conversed about drugs on Feb. 9 and 10.
Police located Stoltzfus in May, and court documents state that in a subsequent interview Stoltzfus told investigators McCartney called him on Feb. 9 to ask about acquiring cocaine. Stoltzfus said he couln’t get that, and then their conversation turned to buying heroin. Stoltzfus then confessed to meeting with McCartney in the Carlisle area and providing him with several bags of heroin stamped with a “Venom” logo.
A summons was issued for Stoltzfus’s arrest, and he surrendered to authorities June 15 and has been held in Cumberland County Prison ever since in lieu of $100,000 bail.
