Man claims self-defense in deadly stabbing of another man in Mesa abc15
When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed.According to police documents, 24-year-old David Anthony Cruz was taken into custody and jailed in connection to the deadly stabbing.
Witnesses say the victim arrived in the area for a yard sale nearby. Cruz was reportedly seen by witnesses arguing with the victim who parked outside of his house.Police say Cruz told them he walked outside and was “suddenly surrounded” and “became very scared for his safety.” Cruz said he pulled out a pocket knife in self-defense.He was booked into jail on one count of manslaughter.
