Pablo Patino, 28, is facing the new charges after Thursday’s standoff, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said Friday morning. The Harris County Fire Marshal was investigating to determine if other arson charges might also follow, he said.
Patino was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after an hours-long standoff with law enforcement Thursday. Deputy constables had been called to the home in the 3200 block of Lotus Blossom because of a report Patino might be inside, officials said.Tuesday at his estranged wife's family's home, where she was staying, and then attacking her. Before that, he'd been arrested on a domestic violence-related charge around Christmas. Patino's wife had asked deputy constables to accompany her as she tried to remove personal belongings from the Spring home.
Patino was at the home, which he owned, and the scene developed into a standoff after he told constables he was armed. SWAT teams responded and dispatched drones and robots inside.
