The King of Malaysia, His Majesty Al Sultan-Abdullah, has acknowledged the Philippines as a significant trading partner, saying that the two countries should advance partnership in new areas.
KUALA LUMPUR —
“Given our close proximity and active involvement in ASEAN, Malaysia regards the Philippines as an important partner. In 2022, the Philippines was Malaysia’s fifth largest trading partner in the region. While Malaysia was the Philippines’ fourth largest trading partner,” he added. King Abdullah also recalled his fond memories in Manila, including how he initiated the Pahang Cup, an annual event of polo diplomacy at the Manila Polo Club.
