Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval announced on Saturday, Feb. 18, that 120 new businesses have been registered in the city since 2020.
“Amidst the threat of pandemic and inflation, I am happy to share that we are successful in promoting the local economy of Malabon by supporting local industries and MSMEs. We believe that businesses are the backbone of the Malabon economy,” the mayor expressed.She stated that the city invested nearly 1.4 billion to hold expos and bazaars, which sought to help business owners in Malabon showcase their products and services to the public.
Due to the pandemic, the mayor said that the city’s first and second online business fora were conducted, where over 250 entrepreneurs learned about business courses. BOSS, pursuant to Republic Act 11032 or Ease of Doing Business Act, upgraded its services by allowing business owners to submit requirements online for the application and renewal of business permits.
