Not all of the Mustang baseball players were able to make it due to prior obligations, but those who did rode on a flatbed truck, gold medals proudly around their necks and the state championship trophy to lift. The Grand Marshal of the parade was none other than Magnolia West athletics superfan Wayne Thomas, who by day works in the maintenance department for the school. Thomas, who followed the team during the season, was awarded his own state championship medal and was in the lead car for the parade.
