In a statement, the LTO said the arrests were part of the agency’s implementation of “Oplan Isnabero” and were made during an operation at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange and in Pasay City. | zacariansINQ

Verzosa explained that according to Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01, the penalty for “refusal to render service to the public or convey passenger to destination” ranges from P5,000 up to P15,000 and cancellation of the Certificate of Public Conveyance .

Verzosa then reminded taxi drivers to perform their responsibilities well following the increasing number of people needing public transportation. Other operations were also done in different areas in Metro Manila under the jurisdiction of LTO-NCR-West. During the operations conducted from January 3 to 5, 2023, LTO enforcers were deployed to bus terminals to make sure that taxi drivers would not refuse passengers who are going home from the provinces.
