The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Friday, Dec. 30, that it has issued special permits to 802 buses to allow them to ply special routes and augment public transportation during the holiday season.

LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III said the additional bus units will help stabilize the high demand of ridership from the existing provincial routes amid the Christmas and New Year’s Day festivities.“The Board decided to extend the SP of PUVs to provide our commuting public more chances to get a ride going home to their families and loved ones during the New Year and beyond,” Guadiz said.
