Earlier last year, Whiteman and the LADF partnered with Up2Us Sports to deepen their impact in the community with youth development through sports. Using sports as a vehicle for healing, Up2Us sports trains coaches beyond traditional sports training with an emphasis on mentoring and trauma-informed strategies. This better prepares them to serve as life coaches and be positive influences to youth afflicted by violence and other negative social behaviors....
