Long-time Blue Jackets broadcaster Jeff Rimer announced last week that this season will be his last one before he retires. countless times before.The only difference about that opening night last Thursday is that that was his last. Rimer announced this will be his final season calling games for the team. The decision caught everybody off-guard.
Rimer joined the CBJ broadcast booth in 2004, following a lengthy career as a sports reporter, anchor, and host covering professional baseball and hockey in Canada and the United States. Rimer said it's time to walk away and spend time with his wife Ferrel, their two children, and their three grandchildren.
