There was an unusual pursuit for police on Long Island on Sunday. A juvenile harbor seal was found in the morning in a traffic circle off Woodhull Road in Riverside, not far from the Peconic Riverfront.

Southampton police responded as the seal headed south, trying to give them the slip. But officers managed to catch and detain it.Officials said the seal was being checked out and will eventually be released.
