Loki season 2 episode 2 director Dan Deleeuw discusses Marvel Easter eggs, his own theories about the timelines, and working with the Russo brothers.
Summary Loki season 2 follows the titular protagonist as he desperately tries to heed the warning given to him by He Who Remains. Loki and Mobius, with the help of Hunter B-15 and O.B., try to decide what the right thing to do is with the TVA and the continuously branching timelines. They will also search for Sylvie, Renslayer, and Miss Minutes as they grapple with the question of free will and an impending multiverse war.
Definitely a full-circle moment! Now with the pruning of all the timelines, in your opinion, what does this mean for the TVA and the multiverse? Expanding on that a little bit, can you talk about collaborating with producers, the other directors and writers to keep the show consistent? Dan Deleeuw: It was great, and when Ke came in, he sat down next to me and he leaned over, he's like, "Is this normal?" And I'm like, "That's normal for these guys."
Dan Deleeuw: That's the art department Kasra, our production designer, is a genius with all the sets, and then in the overall design of the filming, and you can see with the posters in the TVA, if you let the art department run with something, they will just come up with amazing ideas that have a story behind them. But it's something you never would have anticipated showing up on set. Dan Deleeuw: It wasn't really planned.
