Late Tuesday evening, Columbia Borough Police released a statement addressing recent burglaries in the area. The police department is busy investigating two separate incidents, only days apart, involving thefts at what they're calling "unsecured residences." Another third burglary also occurred in West Hempfield, a town just outside Columbia Borough, and police believe the crimes may be connected.lock all windows and doors to help prevent unauthorized persons from entering their property.

The burglaries in Columbia Borough occurred on the 100 block of S Third St. and 800 block of Blunston St. The incident in West Hempfield occurred on Malleable Rd.Local residents were also reminded to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood by calling 911.
