Temperatures begin to heat up this week with eventual rain chances as we move on.
INDIANAPOLIS — A shift in wind direction from the south today will pump in much warmer air to get the weekend started. . While most of the state sees plenty of sunshine today, a quick-moving frontal boundary will bring increased clouds and a few stray showers across the northeastern tier of the state. Temperatures will be hindered a bit under a cloud deck with highs in the lower 60s from Richmond to Muncie but climbing to the upper 60s and low 70s under mainly sunny skies elsewhere.
We'll also see some increased cloud cover through early Sunday but limited moisture with this system keeps rain out of the forecast.Layer up if you're headed to the Colts tailgate as temperatures slowly warm back through the 40s. High temperatures Sunday will be about 10 degrees cooler in the upper 50s. Monday will be partly sunny and seasonal with highs warming back to the mid 60s ahead of another major warm-up with highs in the mid to upper 70s Tuesday under a mostly sunny sky.
Rain will be likely on Friday but the temperature trend looks to stay mild through the start of next weekend.
