Last October 2022, Republic Act 11934, or the SIM Card Registration Act, was signed into law. This law provides accountability for those using SIM cards and aids law-enforcement agencies in tracking perpetrators of crimes committed through phones.
SIM registration started during the latter part of December 2022. What is the status of the registration process? Why was there a need to push this law? What is the basis?
