The song he remixed with the help of Billy Ray Cyrus, who sang the original, has now tied"Despacito" and"One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey as the longest running No. 1 song on the Billboard charts. And its run is not over yet.In a statement from Cyrus' rep, the acclaimed singer wrote,"This song has been a uniter not a divider. I’m giving God the glory now for allowing me the gift to be part of such a special song.
"Old Town Road" surpassed three songs that each ran for 12 weeks:"See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth,"Boom Boom Pow" by The Black Eyed Peas and"Lose Yourself" by Eminem.The rapper didn't forget to thank all the fans who have made these accomplishments possible.
