Now, I’m not encouraging you—or anyone for that matter—to scale 3,000-foot mountains, sans safety ropes, as he does. “I’ll always think about what I could have done better. Could I have come up on the net? Been more consistent? It’s not anger. It’s analyzing: What can I do next time?” For businesses and their supply chains, any of the above forces, at any given time, has the potential to quickly and impactfully serve as a source of severe disruption. And as potent as those forces are, the reality is that their trajectories and macroeconomic impacts are beyond the control of any company, employee or executive. So then, what is within your control? I would point to the following.
