Hamilton was publicly silent for several weeks after Abu Dhabi, and there was widespread speculation that he was done with racing—that he would walk away. “I, for sure, considered whether I wanted to continue,” he confirms. “He was in a dark place,” says Hobson, explaining how she had asked him to join her and Lucas for Christmas in the Caribbean.
