In Texas, any statewide voter referendum is not allowed by law, so multiple local voter ballot initiatives are as close as we can get. Texas does not fully enforce all marijuana laws. Yet Texas still fully expects that its municipalities do that.The case against Julian Assange is a threat to the First Amendment’s press freedom protections. Prosecuting Assange for news gathering or publishing sets a precedent that can be used against all media outlets. This would criminalize standard journalistic practices.
They have been joined by a wide array of human rights, press freedom and civil liberties groups that have condemned the prosecution of Assange.Why change on gambling?As the article states, this is because people are already betting out of state and/or illegally.
