Read the Express-News letters to the editor for Jan. 29.
I believe the letter writer missed an important point: Government is not a business.
I would like to see an enterprising news organization calculate how much individuals and corporations contribute to local, state and federal officeholders with the purpose of keeping their taxes lower than the average family on a percentage basis. U.S. Rep. Chip Roy is being disingenuous when he sees the IRS as the problem rather than his wealthy donors, who would be on the phone howling to him the minute they heard they were being audited.
