Columbus police said that the department was working around the clock to locate the missing infant and the female suspect accused of abducting him.
Columbus police said Wednesday afternoon that tips were suggesting the suspect accused of abducting infant twins when she stole their mother's car may still be in Montgomery County where one of the twins was left sitting outside in a car carrier seat at an airport parking lot.
Police accuse her of stealing and fleeing in the black 2010 Honda Accord with the twins in the back while their mother, Wilhelmina Barnett, was picking up a DoorDash food delivery order. Barnett was working Door Dash in an attempt to make some money to provide for her children. Police said Jackson, who is believed to have family In Montgomery County, left Kyair sitting in a car seat with a quilt wrapped around him in the bitter cold about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday before a passerby heard him crying and found him between two parked cars in the economy parking lot at Dayton International Airport. His brother Kason remains missing., but their stance had changed since a similar event Monday and now Jackson faces criminal charges.
"Investigators … were able to locate some of those individuals and determine the person's contact," Weir said. On Tuesday night, law enforcement also interviewed two people who may have spoken with Jackson in the Dayton International Airport area and were cooperating with investigators. In addition, Weir said police were monitoring vehicles being reported stolen with the thought that Jackson might have attempted to ditch the stolen Honda for another vehicle. So far, Weir said, the only stolen car was reported out of Middletown and police were investigating that report.
The division sent out the bulletin on Tuesday, but tweeted out an update late Wednesday morning. Bryant urged residents of neighboring states during the Wednesday press conference to be vigilant.
