Sweater and vest: AreaIt's funny actually. I don't think I wanted to model ever. I think it was the opposite. I've also been an athlete my whole life. I played basketball and grew up more of a tomboy. I ended up doing modeling regardless because she forced us to, and now looking back I'm so grateful for the moments. My mom was like,"Sit down and learn your angles," and it definitely paid off. So I always tell her thank you.
I'm so grateful for the position I'm in now because of my platform. I'm so grateful for it because it's changing, making people think outside of the box, opening doors and breaking down stigmas. Right now, I'm so elated to say that I'm a model. That Savage Fenty show, I'm still shook. I still can't believe that happened. It was one of the best moments of my life, honestly.
You know, I forget sometimes that I don't have my legs. I wasn't born this way, so it's something I've had to grow with and become one with and it's been really tough. And I actually think being an athlete helped me to get to where I am now physically and see it all as a challenge for me to take on and conquer in the end. I had my second amputation this year and before that I was so stuck and in so much pain, it was impossible.
